From planting our pastures, mowing our hay, collecting eggs, checking the bees, and caring for our livestock, our dedication to producing the product of our toil can give you the peace of mind of knowing how and where it was grown. In 2020, we received our Michigan Agricultural Environment Assurance Program (MAEAP) verification in Farmstead, Livestock, and Cropping Systems and completed the installation of our 66 solar panels ensuring that our farm is doing everything we can to provide a sustainable future for many generations. |

Meet the Sheep! We have 15 Ewes (Amy, Baabara, Baabi, BS, Cassie, Darcy, Denise, Gina, Hattie, Honey, Matilda, Paula, Whitney, Vicki, and Victoria) and 2 Rams named Homey & Larry. Our ewes are efficient at grazing on our green pastures.
Meet our Chickens (& Ducks)! We have 40 laying hens and 5 ducks at the farm. Our layers are made of Buff Orpingtons, Rhode Island Reds, Isa Browns, Black Sexlinks, Silver Laced Wyandottes, Golden Laced Wyandottes, and Ameraucana breeds and we have Cayuga and Miniature Silver Appleyard ducks. At peak production we will get just over 3 dozens eggs a day. During the summer we will raise between 100-200 Cornish cross broiler chickens in our mobile chicken tractors.

Meet our Cows! We have a colorful herd of sweet-natured beef cows (Big Momma, Diamond, Derringer, Lilly, Midge, Red, Rosie, Ruby, Scarlet, and Trixie). From our stock we raise show cattle and the delicious beef we sell at the market and off the farm.
Meet our Goats! We have a herd of 17 Boer does (Annie, Blaze, Booty, Edie, Ellie, Evie, Fanny, Ila, Iris, Izzy, Lightning, Madden, Mindy, Tess, Zena, Zoey, and Zuri) and 3 bucks (Frank, Mint, and Mick). The best part about our goat herd besides the unique personalities of each one of them is that we never have to worry about grazing control as they are very efficient at keeping plants at bay, climbing, & of course asking for attention & treats.
Meet the Farmers! Darin and Megan Emelander, David and Lorna Emelander, and the kids (Macie Merrill and Easton Merrill). Together we work hard every day as stewards of our land and livestock.
